Photo ready makeup is different than everyday makeup. I have put together a list of my favorite photo ready products right here for YOU! I will admit, nothing is better than getting your makeup and hair professionally done since they are trained in making your hair and makeup last all day while using high end products. But for you girls that would rather do your own makeup I have just a few suggestions for you.
Let’s start with the BIGGEST photo makeup MUST:
- False Eyelashes! Eyelashes are the number one thing that gets lost in a photos False eyelashes will also help make your eyes POP! Some of my favorite false eyelashes products include:
- Ardell Studio Effects – found at Ulta and Target
- Ardell Wispies – found at Ulta and Target
- Kiss Blowout Lash – Ulta
- Kiss Lash Couture – Ulta
- Ardell Natural
- Always pair your eye shadow with a good primer. This will ensure that your eye shadow stays put throughout the photo shoot. My favorite eye shadow primer would be the Urban Decay eye shadow primer found at Ulta.
- This is the second most important tip I can give you when it comes to your photo ready makeup routine. Try to avoid wearing any foundation that includes SPF in it. Sometimes I will use an off camera flash and the SPF will cause a ghost effect where your face may appear lighter than your body. The best foundation you can wear for your photo shoot would be an HD foundation. My favorites include:
- L’Oreal’s infallible
- Ulta HD Full Coverage
- NYX Stay Matte
- Pair your liquid foundation with a setting powder to lock in your foundation. My absolute favorite setting powder is Maybelline’s Fit Me Matte + Poreless.
- My last tip is wear lipstick! Feel free to wear color or even nude but lipstick is a must in photos! To start your photos wear a paler color and end with a bright color. Never start with a bright or dark color knowing that you would also like to do photos with a pale lip color because it will be harder to change if you start out with a bright or dark color.
To really lock in your makeup for the photo shoot, top it off with a setting spray. If you would like a really strong setting spray I highly recommend the Urban Decay brand. If Target is your go to place, then they NYX brand has a great setting spray in the makeup department. I hope this information helps you as you prepare for you photo session!
